  • Students began by watching a video teaching them how to fold a SOARing origami creature.  Check out their creations in our windowsill.

  • They also wrote a paragraph explaining how to build the best sandwich.  

  • Each student chose a particular task to present.  Their “How-to…” brochure included the following:  table of contents, materials list, an instructional paragraph using transition words, a list of steps, a mini research report on the background, and photos.  

  • As a culminating activity, each student shared a “How-to..” presentation with the class. Click below to watch the video of each presentation.

In preparation for the science fair, students have become experts on reading, writing, creating, and presenting nonfiction procedural text.
